Al-Hallabat Palace is one of the most important archaeological sites in Jordan as a witness to antiquity and the Middle Ages. Most of the buildings date back to the Roman and Umayyad periods and were used as a defensive fortress by the Romans and as a haven for rest and recreation by the Umayyads.
